Foot Orthopedist

Question: What is a foot orthopedist? There are 2
possible answers to this question. It probably would
be a legal definition based upon the particular state
involved. And there is the dictionary definition of
"ortho" which can mean joint and "ist" which can
mean the study of. And foot which can mean the
talus fibular and tibia and all distal bones or
then again not including the fibular and tibia
depending upon the state you are located in.
Why do some states not allow a podiatrist to
call themselves a podiatric foot orthopedist?
A foot orthopedist sometimes is viewed as a
practioner that has an unrestricted license to treat
the entire body. What about the field of podiatric
orthopedics? Can a podiatrist call themselves a
podiatric foot orthopedist? Well in some states a
podiatrist cannot even call themselves a podiatric
physician but can call themselves a podiatric
doctor. Then again the word doctor means physician
so then again this is probably dictated by state law
that is approved by the legislative politicians in a

If a foot orthopedist is defined as a health care
practitioner with an unrestricted license then a
podiatrist is not a foot orthopedist or a podiatric foot
orthopedist. If a foot orthopedist is defined as
including health care practioner with a limited
restricted license then perhaps a podiatrist may
possibly be a podiatric foot orthopedist if the
state legislature of the state involved allows for such
a definition. Outside the United States, perhaps the
laws of whatever country involved would probably
apply in this matter.
